Lagging Behind Lately
OK, so I have gotten behind on blogging lately. I just looked and my last post was in November. Where has the time gone? I do have a couple of good excuses though. Let me list them for you.
1. I hurt my ankle the day before my birthday. Well, I actually think that I torn ligament in my right foot. David said that he would keep Megan and Will for me one day and I could go and do whatever I wanted to do by myself. I decided to go to Lexington and visit a quilt shop then do a little Christmas shopping in Columbia. I went to the quilt shop, found this really cute fabric for Megan's Christmas present, and then was crossing the parking lot. Somehow, I stepped on something and my ankle just rolled out from under me. I hobbled to the car and sat down. My ankle was as big as a soft ball. No shopping for me! I drove myself home and kept ice on it all night. I was pretty pathtic, crawling around the house like a baby. David had to laugh at me a little. Anyway, I am still hobbling on the ankle. It makes everything go slowly and I have not been able to exercise since I hurt it.
2. Thanksgiving. It is always hectic after my birthday until after Christmas. At Thanksgiving we pack up the VW and head for Mississippi. A lovely 10 hour car ride over to Meridian, visit with my family for a few days, then take another lovely 4 hour car ride up to Ashland, MS, visit for another few days. Next, you guessed it, another lovely 4 hour car ride back to Meridian, visit for a day then journey 10 hours back to South Carolina. We pretty much stay in the car for half of the visit! So therefore, nothing can get accomplished.
3. Megan's birthday. Megan turns 5 this year. Five is a big number. Five gets you into Kindergarten and summer camps. Five is huge. Five is almost 18 when she leaves home and goes to college. Five is almost 24 when she gets married and you lose her to the man of her dreams. Sniff..... I really do need to stop over thinking things a bit.
4. Christmas. Dare I say another word?
