Gingerbread Men

One of the things that David's mother, Judy, (or Gigi) has always done with her children is make gingerbread men. A gift that Megan received from one of her teachers for Christmas was a gingerbread cookie cuter. Well, being a smart mama and wanting something for Megan and Will to do during the afternoon while I finish preparing Christmas lunch, I suggested that they make gingerbread men. It was a stupendous idea. Megan helped Gigi measure all of the ingredients and pour into the mixer. Will also helped with some of the spices. He loves to watch the paddle go around and around in the mixer. After they finished with the dough, of course it was time to lick the paddle. Megan did not care for the smell or taste of the dough, Will on the other head enjoyed it tremendously. They cooled the dough in the refrigerator and then after rest time they cut out the cookies. Megan had gingerbread men and women, children, cousins, snowflakes and trees. Some of the women were doing plies and other dance positions. The cookies were wonderful plus when Aunt Stephanie drove up into the drive-way she was welcomed with the warm smell of gingerbread fresh from the oven.
