Fat Tuesday
Happy Mardi Gras! We do not live in Baton Rouge anymore, but I still enjoy celebrating Fat Tuesday. I baked two king cakes again this year. I have done it for the past three years for Megan's class. It started when she was in the three year old preschool class and I learned that they celebrate Fat Tuesday. Ms. Karen said that they usually make personal little king cakes and I asked if she would mind me making a real one. She loved the suggestion and the king cake was a hit! So naturally Megan wants me to do one for her every year. This year Will is in Ms. Karen and Ms. Ashley's class and they asked me specifically if I would do another cake this year. I was quite honored. I do not know if the children in class enjoy eating the cake, but Megan and Will enjoyed bringing them to school to share with their friends.
I did not have a purple, green or yellow shirt for Will to wear to school, so I found some of our old Mardi Gras beads and put them on him. He did not want them on at all, as you can see. We negotiated down to wearing them to school, showing them to Ms. Karen and Ms. Ashley then putting them in his bag. I was hoping that he would forget and keep them on for the day, but he remembered. In the bag they went!
Oh, my friend Nikki is awesome! She was found a Mardi Gras dress for Megan to wear. It is a size 7, so she will be able to wear it for at least two years. Thanks Nikki!
