Megan's Easter Bonnet

Easter Parade
Words and music by Irving Berlin
In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it,
You'll be the grandest lady in the Easter Parade.
I'll be all in clover and when they look you over,
I'll be the proudest fellow in the Easter parade.
On the avenue, Fifth Avenue, the photographers will snap us,
And you'll find that you're in the rotogravure.
Oh, I could write a sonnet about your Easter bonnet,
And of the girl I'm taking to the Easter Parade.

Everytime I think of Easter bonnet's I recall the above song from the movie Easter Parade with Fred Astaire and Judy Garland. I am probably the only person my age that watches those movies, but I love the singing and dancing. This year at school, Megan's class had an Easter bonnet project. They were given a hat, or could bring one of their own, and decorate it anyway that they chose. Then on the Friday before spring break let out, they had a parade around school. Megan wanted flowers and a watering can that looked like it was suspended in mid-air, watering the flowers. She also wanted lavender ribbons to tie around under her chin and drape down her dress. Mama B helped her put all of the flowers, glitter and other embellishments on the hat while it was my job to figure out how to get the watering can to hang in mid-air. She really liked her hat and everyone at school smiled at it. She is definitely creative!
