Inspiration For Megan

So today I am being slightly productive. I am working on Megan's photo wall for her bedroom along with doing laundry. Here is a picture of her wall. I have already started with two antique mirrors, an old pair of pointe shoes that I found on eBay a couple of years ago, and a small photo frame with Megan sound asleep in her very first pink tutu.  In our small corner of Arkansas there are not many opportunities for her to dance as she did in Orangeburg.  I really want her to remember all of the fun she had in performing in her dance recitals and the Civic Ballet shows. She wants to dance lead roles someday in the Nutcracker but since moving she is a little bummed and misses Ms Tamalyn and Ms Cammie and all of her dance friends.  So my plan is to hang photos of all of her performances on her photo wall for inspiration.

As I was looking through the pictures I just cannot believe how grown up she has become.  Here she is in her first tutu on the first day of ballet.  She ran around the house in that tutu and refused to take it off for bedtime.  She even fell asleep in it.  David took a great picture too.  That picture is hanging on her bedroom wall, I just cannot take it down.
Here is Megan in her first dance recital.  Doesn't she make a cute bunny?

Megan got to perform in Orangeburg Civic Ballet's Nutcracker as a mouse.  Her friend Brynn was one too!  They had so much fun together!

A Bon Bon finally!  She was so excited to be a Bon Bon for the Nutcracker the next year.  I believe it is still her favorite part.

What a beautiful shooting star she makes in her dance rectial.  Those sequins can blind a person in the sunlight though.  Years later I am still seeing spots!

The Civic Ballet put on an original production of Peter Pan and Megan was Pixie Dust and a Gold Coin from the pirates treasure chest.  She loved spinning as Pixie Dust.  The skirts twirled really well.  I kept seeing all of the girls twirling for fun while getting dressed.

As a gold coin, they did a dance to Middle Eastern music.  She really liked this dance because it reminded her of Arabian Coffee in the Nutcracker.

One thing that I noticed though all of these pictures is her facial expression.  You can tell the pure joy in dancing and performing.  I have many, many more pictures that I did not share.  I always make David take his camera to the show so we can get as many photos as possible.  I really want to remember her dancing.  She brings me such pleasure in watching her smile and move across the stage.  It makes all of the late nights and endless hours of driving and waiting worth while.
