I Want a Christmas Redo!
Christmas is over and a new year has begun. I should be estatically happy that all of the Christmas rush is over, no more zipping to the store to get ingredients for that special dish, no more planning ahead and buying much needed items so that you will not have to shop on Christmas Eve or over the holiday. Unfortunately, I am not happy. I want a redo! This Christmas just did not feel like Christmas, at least for me anyway. It all started with David coughing all night Christmas Eve. By Christmas Day he was so sick, we ended up taking him to the ER, after opening a few gifts of course. He had Type A flu. Lovely! With living in a small town we had to wait a day before getting his Tamiflu prescription. Fortunetely the hospital was able to give him two doses of his cough medicine to tide us over until the pharmacy was open the next day.
Thankfully, we had some friends in town who were able to take Megan and Will home with them while David was with the doctor. I had originally invited them to Christmas dinner along with a few other people, but we had to cancel. We didn't want anyone to get whatever David had! Megan and Will had a great time with their friend Drew and his parents. I don't think they felt too bad about our Christmas being put on hold until later in the day.
It did snow on Christams Day! Not much but enough to get outside and run around in the slush. Megan and Will enjoyed it although I think Megan enjoyed it the most. She was out doors with her rain boots on running around in the snow. Will was in his room working on building some of his new Lego kits, which I actually got to help with. To get our attention, Megan began throwing snow balls at Will's window. He got very exasperated! He did go outside after finishing the alien mother ship. He did not stay long though. He thought it was too cold and wet. His mittens were soaking wet and in his opinion that was just not good!
I had to include a picture of poor Buck standing out in the snow. He hates being out in the rain and he really disliked the snow. As you can see, he was ready to go back into the house. Rachel, our older dog, was not interested in getting up from her spot by the fire. I remember when she was a puppy with Grizzly. They would run around outside in the snow, kicking up their heels. You could barely get them to slow down, they were having so much fun!
Now here is my dilemma, should I have a Christmas redo? As of right now all of the Christmas things are in the attic, the living room is being in the process of being put back together, plus it is the first full week of January. I guess I will let the Christmas of 2012 pass by and plan on having a really nice Christmas for 2013. Good-bye Christmas 2012, please don't visit again in 2013!
