Fourth of July Road Trip

Here is Poppaw and B with Uncle Paul and Megan and Will. We had to get a picture before moving on to Oxford. Notice my parents NEW paved driveway! They just had the driveway finished the week before the annual family get-together. It was really nice to drive on the driveway and not have the car bottom out as we go through the holes.
After eating hamburger and hot dogs in Meridian we left for Oxford. We stayed with Gigi until Saturday night. Megan and Will swam in the pool at her house almost every day. Will remembered how to do a back flip while standing in the water. Megan was working on how to do a handstand in the water. Both of them love swimming. Megan has gotten really good at it and Will is surprising me with his daredevil tricks.
While in Oxford we visited the bookstore, Square Books Jr. We have visited it several times before and absolutely adore the store. They have couches to sit on and a wide variety of books to browse through. Both children usually find something that they want to get. I usually find something too! I also got to visit a few antique stores. I did not purchase anything though. I will wait until I have the new house painted and all of the furniture fixed before getting anything else.
One the drive home we went through the Mississippi Delta. I have not been through there before but really enjoyed the easy drive. We stopped at Fat Baby's Catfish House in Cleveland, MS. Since we did not get fried catfish on the 4th, David thought that it would be a good idea to have some before we got home. The food was really good. Will did not want fish at first but I went ahead and ordered him some. He ate all of his fish plus was snatching some from mine and David's plate. Megan tried some fish but enjoyed her salad more. We also tried corn nuggets. I thought I was ordering regular corn, but this was corn kernels dipped in a batter and deep fried. They were pretty good but I could only eat about three.
I was finally able to get Megan and Will's picture at the Arkansas State Welcome sign. Yes, I am that parent that has to get the goofy welcome sign pictures. What am I going to show at their wedding reception if not the goofy pictures. I told them to pose for me. Aren't they cute!
