Summer Flowers
I have had some of the most beautiful flowers in my yard. The lady we bought the house from was a gardener. She usually has something in bloom through out the year. Right now we have hydrangeas and gardenias. I have several different varieties and colors of hydrangeas, which I do not know what they are called. Below is an example of one bush in the back. It is overflowing with flowers.
The gardenias smell heavenly! I remember when David and I got married I had Stargazer lilies and gardenias in my bridal bouquet. The scent of those flowers always reminds my of that special and fun day. Here I just placed a bunch of the gardenias in a vase on my mantel in the living room. It looks really pretty.
I am not the best at arranging flowers. One set of flowers I placed in a shallow glass bowl with water and mounded the flowers on top of each other. The other arrangement I placed them in a tall vase with magnolia leaves around them. It makes the blooms stand out against the greenery. I got that idea from a mother at school who is a floral arranger. She did some wonderful arrangements for the kindergarten graduation this year. I don't think mine looked as well as hers, but it is just David and I, plus the pets, to please. Luci, the cat, likes the flowers. She is usually caught drinking from the vases at least twice a day.
